This Seminar
will be a unique opportunity to benefit from the teachings of one of the world’s
leading scientists and authority on animal emotions and behaviour.

In this two day seminar Marc will be
exploring the emotional and moral lives of wild and domestic dogs and how
this influences and impacts their daily lives and their future behaviour. He
will discuss the important and powerful benefits of play and its role in
social learning and bonding.
Focus points of the seminar will be
featuring an in-depth discussion and analysis of evaluating behaviour in
dogs, increasing our expertise as trainers and behaviourists.

Marc Bekoff is a
professor emeritus of biology at the University of Colorado-Boulder, a
fellow of the Animal Behaviour Society, and a former Guggenheim Fellow. He
also works closely with Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots programme and is a
member of the Ethics Committee of the Jane Goodall Institute.
He is the author of more than 200 papers and numerous books including ‘The
Emotional Lives of Animals’, ‘Wild Justice' and 'The Animal Manifesto'. TV
appearances include: Why Dog’s Smile and Chimpanzees Cry (Discovery) and The
Power of Play (Animal Planet). |

The Seminar will be held
at Napier University's new state-of-the-art Craiglockhart Campus,
Edinburgh.
The campus is located 15 minutes from the city centre of
Edinburgh and boasts excellent transport links to nearby hotels, bars and
attractions.

DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE
By
road
From the north or south take the city bypass to Dreghorn Junction.
Follow the Dreghorn Link and turn left at the mini roundabout onto
Redford Road. At the end of Redford Road
turn right onto Colinton Road and continue to the roundabout. Turn left
at the roundabout and follow Colinton Road to the traffic lights, turn
right onto Glenlockhart Road and Craiglockhart Campus is on your right
hand side.
