Action 4 Dogs was delighted to hold a Seminar onPredatory Chase BehaviourDavid Ryan5 June 2010 - Edinburgh Training Centre
Predatory
Behaviours in dogs are very common issues which trainers and behaviourists are
constantly faced with. It is imperative that we understand and have the
expertise and the skills necessary to apply the knowledge in order to redirect,
change or manage these deeply entrenched behaviours. This is a unique opportunity for trainers and keen dog owners to attend a Seminar with one of the UK’s Experts within his field. Case histories, video material and latest thoughts & findings will be presentedHow to control Predatory Chasing in dogsMany dogs are confined to a lead, re-homed, or worse, because their owners can’t stop them chasing. It’s not their owners’ fault, they’ve spent hours out in the foulest weather shouting, yelling, pleading, cajoling and worrying. The better dog trainers tell them, “It’s a recall problem. More obedience exercises!”, and that might help for a while, but the problem is deeper than that. You can’t deal with a long standing chase problem in isolation. Understanding why dogs chase is crucial to controlling them; knowing that they take massive brain-chemical induced enjoyment from it. Once we see chasing from the dog’s point of view it becomes easier to understand how to control them, because training a dog not to chase is not like training one to sit. This Seminar will address the reasons for the problem, the more effective solutions and how to alter the behaviour
The Seminar will begin at 09:30 with registrations for a 09:45 am start and sessions will end at 16:30. Lunch will be from 12:30 – 13:45 VENUE INFORMATION The Seminar will be held at the Edinburgh Training Centre which is based in St Mary’s Street. This is right in the heart of Edinburgh in the city’s beautiful Old Town, just off the Royal Mile and only minutes from Waverley Station. 16 St. Mary’s Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1SU, Tel. 0131 538 8333 - HOW TO GET THERE - Click here
